Dandelion Press is a publishing imprint and business operation of Silent Systems LLC, an Indiana limited liability company owned by Jim Van Manen, PhD.

Silent Systems LLC develops and manages publishing projects, digital products, applications, games, educational resources, and creative technology. Dandelion Press is the company’s publishing imprint, focused on books, art, and work related to Deaf artists and culture.

Silent Systems LLC is the legal entity responsible for this website and for the company’s software and application development activities.

Dandelion Press uses the image of the dandelion proudly in the same way that Chuck Baird intended it to be used, not only as a symbol of Deaf people, but extended to include ALL oppressed people. Sharing art and books made by Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing, as well as hearing artists, Dandelion Press is committed to remaining a place that gives access to art, artists, and artistic practices that need more attention, starting with the American Deaf Community. Our mission is to make, promote, and sell art and books by people of diverse cultural backgrounds, all genders, and inclusive of Deaf community members and advocates. We are also proud to be the only vendor of the master De’VIA artist, Chuck Baird.
